How to Use Essential Oils for Eczema

Eczema is a group of conditions that can cause the skin to be irritated or inflamed. It’s a very common skin condition and flare ups can occur for a variety of reasons.

Here are some essential oil recipes to help soothe you and provide a bit of comfort when you’re experiencing eczema.

Combine the ingredients in a small bowl, stirring them well to make sure the essential oils are incorporated. Keep the cream in a container either at room temperature of in your refrigerator.

Recipe #1

  • 1/2 cup of Coconut Oil
  • 15 drops of Lavender essential oil
  • 30 drops of Melrose essential oil

Recipe #2

  • 1/2 cup of Coconut Oil
  • 20 drops of Cedarwood essential oil
  • 20 drops of Frankincense essential oil
  • 20 drops of Lavender essential oil

Recipe #3

  • 1/2 cup of Coconut Oil
  • 10 drops of Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia) essential oil
  • 20 drops of Lavender essential oil

Essential Oil Benefits:

  • Melrose supports healthy skin
  • Lavender helps hydrate and renew your skin
  • Cedarwood can help reduce peeling and relieve itchiness of the skin 
  • Frankincense can help soothe pain, itchiness and inflammantion
  • Tea Tree has cleansing properties and can act as a moisturizer for your skin 

 

You can replace the coconut oil with jojoba, olive or grapeseed oil or use Young Living’s V-6 oil.

You can also add 1/4 cup of Shea Butter, which is rich in vitamin A and acts as a great moisturizer, to any of these recipes.
